Camp Carnage is another one of Digital Playground's latest horror movies/series. But while the production value, acting and cinematography are satisfactory, the plot falls flat with one of the worst endings ever and several confusing character decisions.
RATING: 🟡🟡🟡⚪⚪
Episode 1
The story starts with a group of friends driving through the forest in search of a certain camping site. After parking on the side of the road to analyze a physical map (they aren't just using google maps for some reason), a creepy guy pulls up and points them in the direction of the site. Once they make it there, our main character (Addison Vodka) decides to take a piss break, and for some reason Ricky Johnson sees this as a perfect opportunity to fuck her (despite the obvious ick of fucking a girl who just finished pissing and the fact that his hot girlfriend is also on the trip with them). Nevertheless we start our first sex scene.
Aesthetically this was a very beautiful scene. The natural lighting worked wonders, complimenting Addison's sun-kissed skin and illuminating her long wavy hair. They both had great chemistry and put in a lot of effort, switching into several hot positions, which was made hotter by the fact that Ricky's girlfriend was in the background searching for him the whole time.
After that, we fast forward to the group huddled around a campfire, talking about a supposed serial killer that lives in the forest. Ricky's girlfriend walks off, and we fast forward again to the group sleeping in their tents, before being awoken by strange noises. The boys decide to go and investigate, but suddenly they are ambushed by a masked axe-wielding psychopath and Ricky is killed. This scene was pretty intense! I actually felt really bad for Ricky's character, buuut my opinion of him will change shortly into the second episode.
Episode 2
After the group deliberates about what they should do next, Ricky's girlfriend (Chanel Camryn) storms off, but overhears Derek and his girlfriend (Addis Fouche) talking to Addison about her affair with Ricky. She storms back in, attempting to fight Addison but is held back by Derek. After Addison excuses herself, a distraught and depressed Chanel attempts to seek sexual healing from Addis and Derek, and we transition into a threesome sex scene. This is where I lose all respect for Ricky, as if it wasn't bad enough that he felt the need to eat out Addison's post-piss pussy, we realize that he was cheating on one of the sexiest and freakiest girls in the world!
Seriously, Chanel completely tore up this scene. Derek's own girlfriend is basically sidelined by Chanel's energy. At one point she deepthroats Derek and keeps his cock at the back of her throat for almost ten seconds while Addis cheers her on. A really intense but also a fun and playful performance from Chanel. Addis was clearly trying her best but had a few too many slip-ups, including repeatedly looking off screen at the director and acting confused sometimes. At the end, Addis offers to sleep with Chanel but Chanel strangely declines and decides to sleep by herself (fore-shadowing).
We then cut to Addison Vodka sleeping in her tent before being awoken by the sounds of screams, she goes out to investigate and is quickly chased by the masked psychopath from before, but right before she's killed, the killer takes off their mask to reveal that Chanel was the killer all along! This was a pretty cool twist and Chanel really shows off her acting chops in the proceeding supervillain speech, but then the moment is ruined soon after when out of nowhere Chanel is killed by... a gun? a crossbow? a throwing-knife? we don't know and we don't know where the second killer is positioned, but Addison awkwardly looks around after being sprayed in the face with Chanel's blood, then watches while Chanel bleeds from the mouth and drops dead. For a second we see a close up shot of some type of mechanical device (supposedly the killer's weapon) that could literally be anything. The shot is too dark and too close to tell.
After that, Addison is saved by the creepy guy from earlier, leaving Derek and Addis behind. A person dressed in the exact same outfit as Chanel then walks into frame, holding a knife, and it cuts to black. Wtf? What exactly is this person's motive? Why would he/she save Addison but continue to stalk Derek and Addis? Why isn't the killer holding the projectile weapon they used to kill Chanel? It doesn't make sense. The ending sucks. But the show was still enjoyable, as long as you turn off your brain I guess.
